Account and project setup
Sign up, create your first KyroFeedback project, and get to its dashboard.
Account and project setup
This guide takes you from a new account to a project ready to collect feedback.
1. Create a developer account
Open /register, enter your name, email, and password, then select Sign up. Registration currently uses email and password. The Google and GitHub buttons shown on the form are not enabled sign-in providers.
After registration KyroFeedback checks whether your account already belongs to a project:
- No project: you are sent to
/onboarding. - Existing project: you are sent to
/dashboard.
To return later, sign in at /login. Your dashboard session is maintained by Better Auth. Use the account menu in the dashboard to sign out.
2. Create your first project
On /onboarding, provide:
- Project name — the product or service customers will give feedback about.
- Project slug — the public URL identifier, using lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. For example,
northstar-app. - Website URL — the canonical website address, such as
https://northstar.example.
The slug must be unique across KyroFeedback. If it is already taken, choose another. The project is created with your account as its owner and with default feedback permissions. You can change its information later in Dashboard → Settings → General.
After creation, KyroFeedback sends you to the project dashboard. If you have multiple projects, use the project selector in the sidebar to switch between them. The selected project is carried in the projectId query parameter on dashboard pages.
3. Find the project tools
The sidebar links to the working areas for the selected project:
- Overview — feedback counts and recent activity.
- Feedback — search, filter, create, and manage feedback.
- Public Portal — open and share the hosted customer page.
- Widget — customize the embedded experience and get installation instructions.
- API Keys — create, rotate, and revoke project keys.
- Settings — edit project information and customer permissions.
If the sidebar says No project, confirm onboarding finished and reload the dashboard. If you belong to more than one project, select the correct one before copying keys or setup links.
4. Choose a way to collect feedback
You can begin with the hosted portal at /p/your-project-slug, embed the widget on your website, or build your own interface with the public API. The portal and widget use the project settings and the same feedback records that appear in the dashboard.
Follow Portal and widget setup for the no-code route, or API guide to build your own UI.
